Once again, the Armando Alvarez Group participated in the European Agricultural Film Conference 2022, organised by AMI (Applied Market Information, Ltd). This time, Andrés García de Tuñón, representing the Group’s Corporate Sustainability area, participated on March 29th in the round table on the “Analysis of the co-existence of the focus on sustainability and technological innovation: a search for solutions to mutually benefit developments in these key areas”.
Other round tables discussed the following issues pertaining to sustainable plastics:
- The new challenges being faced by the agricultural plastics sector, with the progressive implementation of sustainable approaches.
- How functionality and sustainability have to go hand-in-hand in developing new plasticulture solutions.
- The creation of national film collection systems as a key element to reusing them.
- The essential collaboration by all members of the value chain, so that the sector can achieve successful results.
- Implementation of an efficient incentives model that, based on legislation, will stimulate cooperation in the circular economy.
The Congress took place from the 28 to 30 March in the World Trade Center building in Barcelona, and it hosted professionals from the various areas related to agricultural films (farmers, processors, machinery suppliers, cooperatives, distributors, etc.), creating a discussion forum on trends in the sector and the challenges being faced by the EMEA region.
