We hereby present the 2022 Corporate Sustainability Report, which includes a summary of the key indicators for the Group companies. This report explains the actions that we have taken to strengthen our commitment to environmental, social and good governance sustainability.
The Corporate Sustainability Report is part of the Armando Alvarez Group’s commitment to sustainable development. This new edition provides details on the work by all of the Group companies during the 2022 tax year based on the three main pillars of our strategy: environmental sustainability, corporate responsibility and effective governance (ESG), which are applied in all of our operations.
According to Mr José Ramón Álvarez Ribalaygua, Chairman of the Group, in his opening letter in the report, “our aim is to grow sustainably over time and contribute to improving the quality of life in those communities where we operate, while reducing the environmental impact of our activities at the same time”. As signatory members of the United Nations Global Compact since 2018, our work is based on the principles and goals that we support.
We set ourselves ambitious goals for the 2030 Agenda with the aim of providing clear guidance for our work and prioritising efforts and resources towards those SDGs that are most relevant to our activities. Thus, we are able to measure our progress and identify the areas where we improved as well as any potential deviations that might require further work.
We also support the European Circular Economy Action Plan and the Circular Plastics Alliance to meet the recyclability goals established for our industry.
This was all made possible thanks to the people that make up this great corporate family, over 2,500 people fully committed to this project, through which we create value for all of our stakeholders and the environment where we operate.
