This is the fifth year in a row that the UN Global Compact publishes this report, which every year presents the sustainability progress reported by participating Spanish companies and acknowledges the good practises that some of them have implemented based on the principles and goals that they defend, along two lines of work that are a priority in 2022: gender equality and climate change.
We are proud that the Armando Alvarez Group has been highlighted in the publication as an example of good practises regarding climate change and circular economy . This acknowledgement comes thanks to our hard work to reduce our environmental impact by promoting the use of circular plastics within our sector as well as proper waste management at the end of its service life.
In order to continue advancing in our sustainability commitment, the Group has established targets for 2030 that are based on the Sustainable Development Goals. These targets range from reducing CO2 emissions to using renewable energy and minimising or recycling waste, among others.

A milestone for family-run companies and for the industry
For the first time, a leading company in its industry that is mainly dedicated to producing plastics has been publicly applauded for its decisive commitment to sustainability. This achievement is a significant milestone, not only for us as a company, but also for family-run companies and for the entire plastics industry.
For years the sector has strongly committed to adopting practises that are more sustainable and to reducing its environmental footprint. We are working on initiatives that promote recycling and reuse of materials and we are implementing production processes that are more efficient and sustainable in order to minimise waste and reduce power and water consumption, following a circular economy model.
