GEOSYNTHETICS
Geotextiles
By definition, a geotextile is a flat synthetic textile material made of polymer fibers (polypropylene and polyester, mainly), similar to fabric, permeable and highly deformable. It is mainly used in engineering and civil works, in contact with the ground, for separation, filtration, drainage, reinforcement or protection.
There are different manufacturing methods, depending on the purpose, woven or non-woven textiles, the latter being the most popular on the market. They are chosen based on their purpose, on the assessment and definition of the mechanical and hydraulic properties of the ground in question.
SOLUTIONS FOR GEOSYNTHETICS
NON-WOVEN GEOTEXTILE
GEOBASIC
The GEOBASIC geotextile is a non-woven material made of 100% virgin polyester fibers , bonded by mechanical needle-punching and offering high mechanical performance. This geotextile is ideal for all civil works and construction applications. GEOBASIC is a geotextile that we manufacture in various resistances and widths, suited to the needs of each project. Thanks to its high mechanical resistance, this geotextile is recommended to improve performance in all civil works and construction projects that require: protection, filtration, separation or reinforcement. This technical or geotextile fabric is environmentally-friendly, non-contaminant and 100% recyclable.
GEOFORCE
The GEOFORCE is a non-woven geotextile made of 100% virgin polypropylene, bonded by mechanical needle-punching. Thanks to its excellent mechanical properties, this high-durability polypropylene geotextile is perfect for separating soil, drainage filters, geomembrane protection, waterproofing and energy absorption.
ALVAFELT
The ALVAFELT is a non-woven geotextile made of high-tenacity polymer fibers, that can be manufactured with polypropylene or polyester, bonded mechanically by needle-punching and later heat-treated. It is characterized by its excellent mechanical and hydraulic properties, in addition to its high chemical stability. It is used in a wide range of civil engineering applications that require improving or maintaining the properties of the system by separation, filtration and protection.
GEOPROTECT
The GEOPROTECT is a non-woven geotextile made of 100% recycled polyester. Given its high mechanical resistance, this geotextile is recommended for all civil works and construction projects, especially where it may be used for its protection qualities. This is an environmentally-friendly product, as its fibers are made entirely from recycled post-industrial waste.
WOVEN GEOTEXTILE
ALVATEX
The ALVATEX is a woven geotextile made of 100% virgin polypropylene high-tenacity raffia filaments, specially designed to offer solutions for separation, filtration, stabilization and reinforcement. Its high tensile strength and solidity, combined with optimum puncture-resistance, make this geotextile excel in performance and durability, even over the long-term.
The main applications of ALVATEX are in engineering projects that involve earthworks and foundations, such as in the construction of roads and parking lots, among others.
ALVAPOL
The ALVAPOL geotextile is a fabric made of 100% virgin polypropylene high-tenacity raffia filaments (woven polypropylene – WPP), laminated with a layer of polypropylene on one or both sides, specially designed to offer solutions for separation, sealing and reinforcement.
ALVATEX PET
The ALVATEX PET is a woven polyester geotextile made with high-tenacity multi-filament strands that provide tensile strength of up to 2500 kn/m, with a very low strain rate.
Given its high mechanical resistance, ALVATEX PET is a woven polyester geotextile recommended to improve ground stability, increase soil mechanical properties and improve construction in areas with a low bearing capacity.
