Details of the event

During the day, attendees were welcomed by Marta Jaumandreu, journalist and presenter, who acted as master of ceremonies. The institutional inauguration was led by Jordi García Brustenga, Director of Industrial Strategy and Small and Medium Enterprises of the Ministry of Industry and Tourism. Subsequently, Luis Cediel, General Director of ANAIP (Spanish Association of Plastics Industrialists), presented the platform. Alicia Martín, spokesperson for EsPlásticos, explained the details of the Spanish Plastics Industry Strategy.

A highlight of the event was the round table with the participation of different representatives of the entire value chain: José Antonio Costa Mocholí (AIMPLAS, Plastic Technology Institute), David Eslava (Eslava Plasticos), Antonio Logroño (Dow) and Ana Álvarez (Grupo Armando Alvarez), to highlight the need for public-private collaboration to improve the competitiveness of the sector.

In her speech, Ana Álvarez conveyed the idea that “the plastics sector is in the midst of a transformation process and requires close collaboration with the administration to establish a common regulatory framework for the whole of Europe and to promote collection systems that favor the circularity of plastics”. The speakers agreed on the importance of working together to promote the sustainable growth of the industry.

The event was closed by Jordi García, who underlined the Government’s commitment to the development of a modern, innovative and environmentally friendly plastics industry.

With this Strategy, the plastics sector reaffirms its commitment to sustainability, innovation and industrial progress, strengthening its role as an economic and social engine in Spain.
