The 2021 campaign Wrap it up in Pink, created by the company Aspla, collected €15,000 to be donated to the IBBTEC (Biomedicine and Biotechnology Institute of Cantabria) to support breast cancer research.
The Aspla campaign Wrap it up in Pink is being held for the fourth consecutive year to promote the use of pink stretch wrap for fodder silage, Silograss brand, painting the fields pink and making this initiative easily identifiable with the fight against breast cancer.
This year there is growing interest and higher enthusiasm from cooperatives and farmers, not only in Spain but also from abroad (France, Belgium, Austria, Germany, Japan, Belarus, Greece, Norway, Slovenia, Switzerland, Czech Republic, Costa Rica). The Silograss film is exported to over 50 countries, therefore we hope to again receive support from the agricultural and livestock community next year, spreading it to more cooperatives and even more countries.
The sums collected increase year after year, this time it reached €15.000, bringing the accumulated amount to over €45,000, which were donated to the IBBTEC (Biomedicine and Biotechnology Institute of Cantabria) to support breast cancer research. According to Piero Crespo, IBBTEC Director, it will be used to study a tumour marker.
By promoting initiatives such as Wrap it up in Pink, we can raise awareness on early breast cancer detection, while providing value to all of society by progress in research.
