Armando Alvarez Group recognised for its commitment to sustainability at the 4th National Plastic Recycling Congress by ANARPLA
The 4th National Plastic Recycling Congress, organised by ANARPLA, took place on June 5, 2025, at Cines Callao in Madrid, coinciding with World Environment Day. The event brought together over 450 industry professionals to discuss the challenges and opportunities in the transition towards a circular economy. During the congress, Armando Alvarez Group was honoured with the ANARPLA Sustainability Award, and took an active role in the roundtable on Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR), where Ana Álvarez, Vice President of the Group, emphasised the need for a collective commitment across the entire value chain to make plastic recycling viable.
Armando Alvarez Group sets decarbonization targets approved by Science Based Targets (SBTi)
We are pleased to announce that Armando Alvarez Group is moving forward with firm steps, setting new decarbonization targets for 2033 approved by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi). This approval confirms that our goals align with the latest climate science and the objectives of the Paris Agreement.

Today, November 27, took place the I Event Transformadores (Converters), organized by ANAIP (Spanish Association of Plastics Manufacturers), held in Covarrubias The One (Madrid). This meeting brought together leaders of the plastics transformation sector, institutions and representatives of various industries to reflect on the challenges and advances in sustainability, innovation and its positive impact on society. In this context, Armando Alvarez Group was especially distinguished for obtaining the Excellence rating in the Spanish and Sustainable Plastics Industry Seal.

At the XXVII National Family Business Congress, held in Santander from October 21st to 22nd , business trajectories that represent the legacy and projection of family businesses in Spain were highlighted. One of the key moments for us was the Álvarez family’s presentation, where they shared their experiences and the evolution of their family business.
New era of transportation: Spain’s first rail freeway to connect Valencia and Madrid in July 2024
The initial service will have a daily connection, allowing the transport of up to 40 semi-trailers in 20 wagons in each direction, which could transfer more than 15,000 trucks per year from road to rail. This project has required significant investments by the precursors of this project: Trans Italia, Tramesa and the Port Authority of Valencia. The investments include the purchase of P400 semi-trailers by Trans Italia and the purchase of rail cars and a gantry crane by Tramesa.
