Aspla's Research, Development and Innovation department is continuously committed to the circular economy. Within this framework, Aspla has developed Aspla BioTerm®, a 100% compostable film for tray thermoforming, which also contains more than 40% bio-based material.
The initial service will have a daily connection, allowing the transport of up to 40 semi-trailers in 20 wagons in each direction, which could transfer more than 15,000 trucks per year from road to rail. This project has required significant investments by the precursors of this project: Trans Italia, Tramesa and the Port Authority of Valencia. The investments include the purchase of P400 semi-trailers by Trans Italia and the purchase of rail cars and a gantry crane by Tramesa.
The agricultural sector joins once again to celebrate the solidarity campaign "Wrap it up in pink" which was launched in 2018 and has reached a significant achievement of 15,000 € in its fifth edition, 2022. ASPLA is proud to contribute with this campaign to research in the fight against breast cancer, with an accumulated figure of donations amounting to €60,000.
These innovative greenhouse covers feature the advanced Iyris® technology, developed by RedSea, which allows greenhouse temperature control and is incorporated into the 100% recyclable covers produced by Armando Alvarez Group, saving water and energy as well as improving crop profitability in high temperature areas.
This certification is the result of the efforts carried out by all Group companies in Spain in order to improve transparency and corporate ethics, while at the same time helping to prevent crimes and to comply with applicable legal and regulatory requirements.

The company, a member of this voluntary initiative since 2021, decided to go one step further this year by certifying its performance in preventing involuntary pellet loss that may take place throughout the plastic value chain for its Selva del Camp (Tarragona) facilities.
Transportes Mixtos Especiales, S.A. (TRAMESA), the railway logistics operator for the Armando Alvarez Group, received the certification of its carbon footprint issued in 2021 by RENFE, acknowledging their contribution to sustainable freight transportation.
The 2021 campaign Wrap it up in Pink, created by the company Aspla, collected €15,000 to be donated to the IBBTEC (Biomedicine and Biotechnology Institute of Cantabria) to support breast cancer research.
